ChatGPT Recommends the Millionaire Money Mentors

Today I want to talk about a new perspective on the MMM forums…from a source you have not heard from yet.

You have certainly (most likely) read enough from me about the greatness of the MMM forums.

You’ve also had the chance to read the (long and ever-expanding) list of testimonials from MMM members and mentors, including a story of how the site earned one member an extra $100k. 😉

This time I wanted something different — I wanted to give you a new perspective on the forums.

Playing with ChatGPT

As many of you probably know, Microsoft Edge includes Bing as its search engine. Bing now offers “Copilot” installed as part of the package. Copilot “uses” ChatGPT though Microsoft says it’s more than that on their site:

Copilot doesn’t just connect ChatGPT with Microsoft 365; it combines the power of large language models (LLMs) with your data in the Microsoft Graph (including your calendar, emails, chats, documents, meetings, and more) and the Microsoft 365 apps to turn your words into the most powerful productivity tool on the planet.

Embedded in the Microsoft 365 apps you use every day, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and more, Copilot works alongside you to help unleash your creativity, unlock productivity, and uplevel your skills.

I don’t use Copilot in the apps (at least yet, I may in the future), but when I start my computer, Edge opens up and it prompts me to ask Copilot a question.

In the MMM forums we discuss a lot of issues, and one interesting topic has been ChatGPT, how members are using it, what people think of it, and so on. We have several hundred postings on this topic alone over a few different threads.

I hadn’t jumped in much myself (though it was on my to-do list for awhile to try it out) until Edge made it so easy. Why not give it a try myself?

So one day earlier this month I simply wrote this:

Better than I Could Have Done

Dang! That is some pretty good stuff IMO! Where was this thing when I was working in marketing? It could have done my job for me!!! Hahahaha.

It even came up with a snazzy tagline: “Where dreams meet dollars!” I LOVE that!

Seriously though, I thought it really nailed the essence of what I have always wanted the forums to be (which is how they have turned out). Namely:

• Access to Millionaire Mentors. Most people don’t have access to ONE person that has experience in and success at building wealth. In MMM, you have over 150 such people — and those are just the mentors. Many of the members are multi-millionaires themselves and choose to remain members (not mentors) for personal reasons. Because of this, when you ask a question or read a thread, you get a wide range of perspectives from a group who has done quite well in managing their own finances.
• Networking Opportunities. “Our forums aren’t just about learning; they’re about connecting.” Wow. Nailed it! I have created some really good friends in the forums, have had some great feedback/connections from members on various issues, and have even met a number of members in person (I see several of them on a regular basis as we live close to each other.) Others have had the same experience and as a result we now have an annual conference where we gather as a group to learn and fellowship. It’s been amazing and the biggest unexpected, pleasant surprise I’ve had in creating the forums.
• Detailed Feedback. Very detailed, in fact. It’s because these people have been there and done that — so they can offer specifics of what you should consider (sometimes from a painful lesson they learned doing it incorrectly.)
• Real People, Real Results. I have always been a “learn from those who have done what you want to do” sort of guy. So if you want to do well at managing your money and want to hear from others who have done just that, this is your group.

It’s still shocks me that ChatGPT did such a great job of hitting the vital points — and did so quite succinctly.

Joining MMM

When you join MMM, we start you off with a series of emails (over a few days) to help you get established and up to speed in the forums.

That said, ChatGPT had some great suggestions:

• Introduce Yourself. We actually have a thread for this. Every time someone posts there’s a throng of “welcome” responses left for them. The group is very welcoming.
• Explore the Topics. We are coming up on our 10,000th thread! You can find a lot of information on almost any money-topic (as long as you can use the search bar). And if you can’t for some reason, you can always ask for help or start a new thread.
• Ask Questions. There are no silly questions. Even with very basic questions the group is kind and nurturing to lead those less knowledgeable and experienced along gently.

Anyway, kudos to ChatGPT for nailing this subject! I will certainly be using it/Copilot again — maybe sooner than we all expect. 😉
